Laleh Shahabi is counsel in our Project Development and Finance practice.
She has experience in a wide variety of project finance and development transactions in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with a focus on the energy, oil & gas and renewables sectors.
Experience
- ADNOC on the establishment and launch of its crude oil trading unit: ADNOC Trading, based in ADGM. The launch of the trading unit represents the next step in ADNOC's expansion of its global presence as it takes steps to increase value through its trading activities
- ADNOC on the disposal of an interest in ADNOC Refining to Eni and OMV where the company was valued at c. $19 billion, including the associated carve out process, the auction process and setting up the trading entity
- ADWEA and Sembcorp Utilities, as sponsors, in connection with the commercial consolidation and bond refinancing of the Fujairah F1 IWPP in the UAE*
- International Finance Corporation (IFC), OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and a group of other lenders in connection with a 200MW photovoltaic solar power plant in Jordan developed by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC (Masdar)*
- IFC and other development finance institutions in connection with project financing of a photovoltaic solar power plant located at Al-Mafraq Governorate, Jordan*
- IFC, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and a syndicate of local banks on the project financing of a 4.5 MTPA LNG facility at Port Qasim, near Karachi, Pakistan*
- US Ex-Im Bank and a syndicate of international banks in connection with project financing of PP11 gas-fired IPP in Saudi Arabia*
- The European Investment Bank (EIB), the Norwegian government, KfW Ipex Bank, GIEK and other financial institutions on the project financing of Northwind Offshore Energy's wind project in Belgium's North Sea*
- IFC, OFID, FinnFund and a group of other lenders on a series of seven solar power projects in Jordan comprising a majority of the “Round 1 solar power programme” in Jordan*
- The joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo in connection with project financing of the Rabigh I integrated petroleum refining and petrochemical project in Saudi Arabia*
- ADB, Korea Development Bank, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the commercial lenders on the multi-sourced financing of LUKOIL's Khauzak-Shady upstream gas development project in Uzbekistan, involving political risk cover from two multilateral institutions
- Société Générale (London Branch), Natixis and ING Bank N.V. in connection with the project financing of LUKOIL's Gissar upstream gas development project in Uzbekistan
- Nord Stream AG in connection with the construction and financing of the Nord Stream gas pipeline through the Baltic Sea*
- JBIC, and the international commercial banks in connection with the $20 billion project financing of the Sakhalin II (Phase 2) integrated oil & gas and LNG Project in Russia*
